Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located in central Kenya near the base of the Aberdare Mountains, is a renowned wildlife conservation area dedicated to preserving endangered species and promoting sustainable tourism. 

Covering 90,000 acres of savannah, forest, and wetlands, Ol Pejeta is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including the rare northern white rhino, with the conservancy being one of the last places on earth to see this critically endangered species.

  • Home to the Last Two Northern White Rhinos: Ol Pejeta is famous for being the home of the world’s last two remaining northern white rhinos, both females, which are under 24/7 armed guard protection.
  • Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary: It is home to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where visitors can see rescued chimpanzees that cannot be returned to the wild.
  • Rich History: Ol Pejeta was originally a cattle ranch before being converted into a conservancy. It was founded in 2004 to create a sanctuary for endangered species.
